Description
This tour is perfect for nature lovers seeking an authentic experience and a close connection with Costa Rica’s extraordinary wildlife. The journey takes you deep into the fascinating Río Frío in the Los Chiles region, near the Nicaraguan border. Recognized as one of Costa Rica’s top bird-watching destinations, this area—much like the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge—hosts an incredible variety of species, from herons and kingfishers to rare sightings such as the majestic Jabiru and the delicate Roseate Spoonbill.
The wonders of this region go beyond birds alone. During the tour, you may spot sloths resting in the treetops; howler, spider, or white-faced monkeys moving through the canopy; caimans resting peacefully along the riverbanks; lizards running across the water’s surface; and bats sheltering beneath fallen logs.
Throughout the experience, an expert naturalist guide will share in-depth knowledge about the region’s rich biodiversity.
